A note about music rights.

Saavn's catalog includes millions of songs, albums, and playlists, and it's growing every day. We work directly with labels and distributors to bring you the biggest (and best) selection of music available, as fast as possible.

However, from time to time, you may discover tracks or albums on Saavn that are disabled, greyed out, or just not available for listening. First and foremost, rest assured that your playlists are never changed or deleted, even if some music becomes unavailable. We have all your playlists safely saved, in their entirety; any disabled tracks will automatically be restored the instant they become available.

Why don't you have ?

Licensing music is a difficult and complicated process. Unlike many services, it's important to Saavn that we always deliver content 100% legally. This means wading (and waiting) through complex licensing agreements and copyright laws. For new content, and at times, for renewals on classic content, it often takes longer than we'd like. If you don't see a song or album available, especially a new release or a popular track, chances are we're already hard at work trying to get it for you.

That said, while we try to ensure that any music suspension is temporary, there are a few possible causes beyond licensing.

Songs Not Yet Released

We occasionally receive content that has not yet been officially released. These albums and tracks may appear on Saavn before their release date, but don't become available for listening until they are officially released to the market.

Ownership Changes

Music rights and ownership occasionally change; they get sold between labels, switch distributors, etc. When this happens, it can take some time to get all the paperwork sorted out, so tracks may become unavailable during that period.

Regional Restrictions

Some content owners restrict the locations and platforms where their songs can be streamed. Most of Saavn's rights are global, so this will be rare for our users.

Database Maintenance

Now and then, we may need to perform maintenance on our database in order to expand service, implement new features, and otherwise improve Saavn for our users. These generally occur over very short intervals, but they can be longer if we're rolling out major new features or need to overhaul large sections of the product.
